In-Check
- The In-Check DIAL is supplied with a sterilizable plastic mouthpiece and an adapter which enables you to use a pediatric mouthpiece if necessary
- The transparent body permits a visual inspection before use, and if required, one-way disposable mouthpiece or a bacterial/viral filter can be used to minimize the risk of cross infection
- Every In-Check DIAL is individually calibrated to ensure a high degree of accuracy; it's accurate to +/- 10% or 10 L/min (whichever is greater)
- Inspiratory flows in the range of 15 L/min to 120 L/ min can be measured
- Tested by AEA Technology P.L.C. in the U.K. for accuracy, and has been verified as providing similar resistances to inhaler devices
- Calibrated using an ATS pulmonary waveform generator. In-Check DIAL complies with the AS/NZS standard for back pressure in flow meters

WHY HAS IN-CHECK DIALE NEED A CHANGE? Since the last update of In-Check DIAL in 2010 new inhaler devices have been introduced ant the measurement of inspiratory flow as a fundamental part of inhaler technique training has been increasingly recognised in expert guidance. To provide the best possible information In-Check has had to evolve. That evolution has been reviewed with expert users and resulted in the new format. The Key Change is that In-Check DIAL G16 now groups inhalers as a functon of their internal airflow resistance, in order to accommodate information on the new devices. So now there are six resistance groups, five of which relate to dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and one of which to pressurised metered dose inhalers (pMDIs). A guide to identify the resistance group for each inhaler is provided on the In-Check DIAL and on the associated guide. The ability to use In-Check DIAL to measure specific flow rate of a particular inhaler can still be achieved through the use of specific restrictive adapter. An example adapter is now included in the pack.
