The Vortex is a holding chamber which is used in combination with medication sprays and metered dose inhalers (MDI) to treat diseases of the respiratory tract.   It includes a metal chamber and works with cyclone twist principle to ensure reliably metered dosing.  When combined with the tracheal adapter, the Vortex is suitable for use by patients who have undergone tracheostomy and are unable to inhale through a mouthpiece. 

The tracheal adapter is suitable for application with blocked (with cuff) and unblocked tracheal cannulae.  However, it must not be used on an open tracheostoma.

The Vortex serves to minimise coordination errors when using metered dose inhalers (MDI).  With its flexible connecting ring, the device can be used with all commonly used metered dose inhalers.
